He Will Flee:

Vice President Pence is reported to be fleeing the country shortly after he oversees the final confirmation of Joe Biden’s election victory against President Trump. Pence is expected to depart the U.S. on January 6th for a trip that will take him to Bahrain, Israel and Poland. While Pence is expected to return to the U.S. around January 11th, would anyone really be surprised if he spends a few more days abroad?

Surely, Pence will not be in Trump’s favor when he carries out his duty, as president of the senate, and oversees the formal counting of the electoral votes and announces Biden as the winner of the 2020 presidential election.

Trump, of course, has refused to concede to Biden and has desperately tried to use the courts to overturn the election. In almost three dozen lawsuits challenging the results, the Trump campaign and its surrogates have either lost or withdrawn their cases.

And while few, including the president’s closest aides, think that Trump will ever concede he lost, eventually he will have to leave the White House for good.

There are many signs that suggest Trump and the First Lady plan to live out their post White House days in Florida.

Back in September 2019, Trump and the First Lady filed a “declaration of domicile” saying their Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach would be their “permanent residence.”

Furthermore, it has been reported that since the election, extensive renovations have been taking place at Mar-a-Lago in preparation for Trump’s post-White House life.

However, the theory that Trump will live out his final days in Florida, tweeting about news and politics, seems to entirely disregard the numerous potential criminal charges he is facing.

While Trump has said he has, “the absolute right to pardon myself,” and has reportedly consulted with advisors about granting pre-emptive pardons, any pardon that Trump grants applies only to federal offenses. Trump cannot pardon changes brought by the states.

The inability to pardon state crimes in why Trump will not be spending his post White House life in Mar-a-Lago, or anywhere in the U.S. The former president will eventually live in exile in a country that does not have an extradition treaty with the U.S.

The potential state crimes that Trump faces are significant. Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. has an active criminal investigation into Trump and his businesses. New York State Attorney General Letitia James is investigating Trump’s businesses and their connections to Deutsche Bank. Additionally, Trump faces defamation lawsuits brought by women who have accused him of sexual assault. Trump is also being sued by his niece, Mary Trump, over a multimillion-dollar inheritance.

The only way that Trump can seemingly secure whatever money he has left and ensure that he does not spend the rest of his life fighting legal bills and in court, is to flee America and never return. Will there ever be justice for all those conned by this man? I doubt it, unless Trump leaving America is a form of justice.
